World Knowledge Forum Busan 2024: The Future of Humanity with Artificial Intelligence (AI)

'World Knowledge Forum Busan 2024' discusses 'AI for All : What to expect in the near next?'

 

The city of Busan announced that the 'World Knowledge Forum Busan 2024' will be held at Paradise Hotel Busan at 2 p.m. today (Sept. 24).

 

Top domestic and foreign experts, including the 40th Prime Minister Chung Un-chan, Nigel Meade, head of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center at Oxford University, Christine Duque, head of global marketing at IBM, Yong-dae Kim, president of the Korean Society for Artificial Intelligence, and Thomas Baccolo, head of artificial intelligence at the ITU, will attend.

 

The event is co-hosted by the Daily Economic Times and MBN, organized by the Korea Artificial Intelligence (AI) Initiative at Oxford University and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency, and supported by the city and the Busan Chamber of Commerce.

 

The ninth edition of the World Knowledge Forum Busan will be held under the theme of “AI for ALL: What to Expect in the Near Next?” and will discuss in-depth the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on humanity.

In particular, it will present how AI technology can be utilized and the direction Busan should take in the AI era.

The keynote speech of the event will be delivered by former Prime Minister Chung Un-chan on the topic of 'Artificial Intelligence, the Threshold of Future Society'.

 

After serving as the president of the Korea Finance Association and the Korea Economic Association, Chung is currently the chairman of the Korea Institute for Shared Growth.

 

The following expert breakout sessions will discuss two topics:

▲'Artificial Intelligence (AI) Changing the Global Business Order'

and ▲'Is AI an Opportunity or Crisis for Korea?

 

Domestic and international experts such as Nigel Mead, Director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence at Oxford University, UK, Kim Yong-dae, President of the Korean Society for Artificial Intelligence, and Thomas Baccolo, Head of Artificial Intelligence at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), will participate as speakers in each breakout session, and in-depth discussions will be held on how AI will change society and how to deal with it.

 

Meanwhile, the city is promoting various projects to grow the artificial intelligence (AI) industry, including ▲ fostering companies through the operation of an artificial intelligence (AI) demonstration center ▲ piloting research and development and leading projects for AI transformation (AX, AI Transformation) in the manufacturing industry ▲ and promoting projects to routinize AI to solve social problems such as industrial safety.

 

Mayor Park Hyung-joon said, “Busan is building a digital innovation ecosystem centered on artificial intelligence (AI) technology in all fields with the goal of realizing a'global hub city'.” “As AI technology is becoming a new engine of economic growth, we expect this forum to be an opportunity to explore the new future direction of Busan.”
