Gyeonggi-do and the Gyeonggi-do Institute for Economic Science Promotion held the opening ceremony of the 'Gyeonggi AI Campus' at the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center in Pangyo on the 11th and held a communication meeting.
Held under the name 'Gyeonggi-do Youth AI Dream Up,' more than 80 people, including Gyeonggi-do AI Director Kim Ki-byung, Gyeonggi-do Assembly Future Science Cooperation Committee Chairman Lee Ji-young, Vice Chairman Jeon Seok-hoon, Sir Kang Sung-cheon, big tech company education managers, and AI professionals preparing to start their own businesses, attended the opening ceremony to celebrate the start of the Gyeonggi-do AI Campus, which has taken its first step as an innovation center for Korea's AI industry.
The province established the campus to provide startup planning and mentoring, job placement and startup support, and educational programs, as well as networking and collaboration among AI experts.
The Gyeonggi AI Campus, located in Pangyo, is an AI exchange center of about 128 pyeong, consisting of a space that can be used for group discussions and AI training, and a multipurpose space that can accommodate 100 people.
In the first part of the opening ceremony, the province introduced Gyeonggi-do's seven AI visions, held a communication meeting with experts in the AI field from the private and public sectors, and students preparing to start a business, and performed a video made with generative AI.
“Through the Gyeonggi AI Campus, many young people will grow into AI experts, and we will spare no effort to support domestic and foreign AI experts to realize their dreams of finding a job, starting a business, or becoming a unicorn company in the AI industry in the province,” said Kim Ki-byung, director of the Gyeonggi AI Bureau.
“Pangyo, where the first Gyeonggi AI Campus has opened, is the center of AI and technology in Korea beyond Gyeonggi Province,” said Kang Sung-cheon, head of the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency. ”We will provide a place for AI exchange and education that goes beyond simple AI technology training and is closely connected to the real lives of the people.”
